Personalised Nightlights

This is a first attempt at some product design from scratch.  Using my CAD software, I created a profile for the rocket and then the 3D model.  It went through a few different iterations to get right but it’s now just about there and I’m selling them in the shop where you can personalise them with a name before printing.

They’re actually quite a neat idea.  The rocket is 3D printed with very thin walls to let the light shine through.  The name is embossed on the outside so that it shows up nicely when the light is on.

The light itself is a fairly simple LED puck that sits in the bottom of the rocket so that the batteries can easily be replaced.  The puck can also be completely removed if required.

Everything is controlled by a slim remote control unit.  This sets the light to a static colour where the brightness can be controlled, or it can be set to fade or flash through all the available colours.

There is also the option to set a timer for either 30 or 60 minutes, after which the light switches off.

For young children, having a nightlight with their own name on is definitely something you’re not going to find in the high street.

The lights run on 3 x AAA batteries and, if you use the timer, they should last up to 2 weeks.

I’m selling these for £35 including the personalisation and can get them printed and despatched in 5 to 7 days.
